Seniors will be painting the sidewalk between Wando and the CAS again this year. Come be part of the tradition! 

Join us for a senior picnic and games even if you won't be painting a square!

Rules:


1. Senior Sidewalk Painting will take place on Friday, October 18th from 12-3 pm. In case of
inclement weather or other complications, a make-up date will be determined.

2. Students must turn in the application and copy of their design (last two pages of this
form) to the front office or guidance office no later than Friday, October 4th. Clearly draw
the design and include the colors you will be using.

3. Students will be notified by administration if their design is not acceptable.

4. Students must provide their own water-based, latex paint and supplies. We do have a
limited amount of basic colors available for use. Water based exterior latex paint is
HIGHLY recommended and can be found at home improvement, hardware, and paint
stores.

c. NO Fluorescent Paint
d. NO Oil Based Paint
e. NO Glitter
f. NO Clearcoat

5. Students are required to clean up their area (including paint and brushes) when they are
finished.

6. Students may work together in small groups to design and paint a square.

7. Designs must be school appropriate. The following items are prohibited:

• Offensive language, pictures, flags, or symbols.
• Negative or rude language.
• “Gang-style” tagging.
• Double meanings.
• Girlfriend/boyfriend names, etc. (ONLY your own name)
• Religious, political, or commercial messages or symbols (no logos)
Note: Prohibited items will be painted over at the discretion of the Principal, Assistant
Principal, or School Resource Officer. Disciplinary action may be taken and you will forfeit
your right to paint a sidewalk space.

8. RETURN APPLICATION TO THE GUIDANCE OFFICE BY OCTOBER 4TH!

Suggested Materials, Tips, and Hints
• Chalk to sketch design
• Paint brushes and/or paint rollers (various sizes of brushes)
• Paint pans or plastic containers for water, paint and brushes
• Blue painter’s tape
• Plastic drop cloth to put under paint cans
• Old cloths or paper towels
• A bag for your trash
• Picnic blanket/ picnic food/ games
• Lawn chairs or stool
